What is Therapy?

Therapy is the process of meeting with a therapist to help resolve problematic behaviors, feelings, relationship and/or family issues, beliefs, and thoughts.  Each journey is different and we respect either how long, short, difficult, and easy the journey may be.  We do not discriminate based on race, age, sexuality, and/or religion.

Is this confidential?

We follow all HIPAA guidelines and we are compliant with all regulations.  We take all measures to ensure that your privacy and confidentiality is a priority.

What insurance do you take?
​
   Currently, we accept all state Medicaids (Health Plan of Nevada, FFS, Anthem/BCBS, Molina, SilverSummit, CareSource) and most commercial insurances including but not limited to:

  • Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Healthcare Solutions

  • Health Plan of Nevada,

  • UMR,

  • Teacher's Health Trust,

  • Cigna,

  • Aetna

  • ChampVA

  • Tricare

  • Harmony

  • United Healthcare (UHC)

  • Medicare (due to supplements we will need to determine eligibility)

 

However, if you are underinsured or not insured we also offer student intern sessions as we are a teaching facility.  Our sliding fee scale is as low as $0. Please call/email us to confirm if we take your insurance.


 
What if I have dual coverage?
 
If you are enrolled in two different health insurance plans, it is essential to let us know during your call. The coverage is not self-selected, and both plans will need to be coordinated. Not informing us may result in you being financially liable, as your coverage influences possible copays, authorized providers, and settings.

It is difficult for me to drive to the office, is there another way?
 
We can conduct virtual sessions!  However, it is dependent on your coverage and the availability of our therapists. We can determine eligibility during your initial call.

I have never been to counseling, what if I don't like it?  
​
We know it can be hard to ask for help.  As the client, you have the right to cancel services anytime.  We applaud your courage and thank you for choosing to see our therapists here at Perceptions Counseling Center.
